Thank you so much for putting this together! I'm so glad I found this before the deadline. I've just sent everything off. This was so so helpful. I will definitely start following genderedintelligence now too. I didn't have a clue this review was even happening, so I feel like that shows I am definitely not engaging enough with the issues LGBTQIA+ people are dealing with.

Hi - got my email sent off, thanks for collating together all these resources and information, and talking through the call for evidence process. I haven’t responded to an evidence call before (and wasn’t that aware of it tbh - other than writing to a local MP), but would definitely do it again. They mobilized quickly on Mumsnet - the internet once again highlighting the importance of showing up to contribute more inclusive solutions and viewpoints, in opposition to what evolved on that thread.

I saw this particular issue via various Instagram activist accounts - and I imagine for any ones in the future this would be the same. I was wondering, apart from the government website and the social media platforms, would these calls for evidence be signposted elsewhere? I assume they would be more discreet....

Thanks so much for all this information and providing an opportunity for us to act! I wonder if anyone has come across an initiative called Stalled! (https://www.stalled.online/) that looks at "design alternatives that do not accept sex-segregated bathrooms as a given".

And I really appreciated you including the edits to your letter - love that transparency and feel like it's another great opportunity for us to learn!

Hi Gina, thanks for a great read! As I know you care about appropriate language and terminology, I wanted to reach out about the use of the term "commit suicide" - here's a link that explains why this phrase isn't encouraged: https://www.beyondblue.org.au/personal-best/pillar/in-focus/why-you-shouldn-t-say-committed-suicide As a mental health researcher, Munroe's quote really rings true - research has demonstrated that when trans and gender diverse people are supported in their identities, their mental health problems are reduced dramatically. If anyone's interested in this, I'm happy to send through some research articles!

Thanks for the offer of this - would you still send through some of those research articles? Always good to have more resources to refer to.

If anyone needs some extra help with writing an email I would suggest looking on some student union websites as well- my SU (RHSU - Royal Holloway Student's Union) have drafted an email so I found that very useful to take snippets from and edit!
