Urgh, this was gorgeous to read! Even if I did burst into tears mid way because that level of sisterhood is something I've craved my entire life. (My only sister and I don't speak, so this hit like a ton of bricks, but anyway this is not about me, stfu brain!!)
I basically came here to say 1) WOW, to be seen in the way that you see your sis is the fucking purest thing in the world. You are both incredible and so lucky to have each other. And 2) The her making you laugh 'til you cry thing absolutely tracks because I'm only just catching up on this series of TM and I literally poured tears of laughter at ep 2 where she does that jump run! 💀
Gina I love this piece so much and really relate to the feeling of like when something happens to your sister, it also happens to you. I am loooving Taskmaster this season! x
Loved this so much Gina. I am also incredibly close to my sister and I really love how you’ve captured the fierce sense of protection you feel for them, and being willing to fight, but not really, but like, probably if you needed to. Can’t wait to watch Stevie kill it 💖
I am definitely going to watch taskmaster for the first time then 🥰!! I am a twin and your sisterhood seems pretty close to ours. I've joked if I die first I'm definitely planning to haunt her everywhere she goes screw Ghost I ain't leaving 🤭. I would say I would take a bullet for her, she would for me and we'd wrestle each other for it. I'm so glad we're seeing more women in comedy these days, don't have to worry there will be a horribly sexist gag from a middle-aged man🤢 in the middle of the show 🤣🥴
As soon as Stevie was announced me and my sister started messaging each other in excitement. I can’t find any trace of this but I swear we used to watch her on buzzfeed or some similar website, being hilarious in videos, and when her lockdown videos went viral we loved her again. Shes SO FUNNY! And I’ll be getting tickets to her tour later this year, so even when taskmaster is over we have something to look forward to.
Gina this is incredibly sweet (and absolutely feral. I love it😂)
When I first seen the trailer I gasped and was like "Stevie!! I know her!" And it's like no, jade, you absolutely fucking don't. But I'm so excited to watch her on it and no matter what mood I'm in whenever I read one of her substacks I laugh (and whisper "oh no, Stevie" lol!) she is such an amazing storyteller and the warmth and humour comes through so wonderfully.
This is such a helpful comment because you feel you know her and I only felt joy from that!! Such a good case study for me!!! Let’s all rejoice for your neck!
I have never been so excited for a series of task master in my life. Stevie is my all time fave. I cannot wait. I discovered Stevie (nobody panic podcast) and then discovered you via her a few weeks later. And for the last few years I've just had this sort of pretend imaginary sisterhood with you both (I don't have sisters) and I'm just filled up by your love for each other. It brings me a weird amount of joy to see you both succeed ❤️

I love it! Spam from Stevie, (took me over a week to figure out aNyThInG about them),
And now, spam from her sister....
Well I have nothing against either of them,
I guess I'm mildly curious....
I only watch The Masking Tape Pastor when there's somebody I'm interested in......

Gina this is so sweet! This maybe sounds bonkers to you (and maybe Stevie too) - in my brain you are both already famous people 👑
Why is this so relatable 😂
